Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy To Use But Too Expensive I had to use turbo tax this year because my accountant had a massive health emergency and couldn't file them. Turbo Tax charged me $30 more than my accountant usually does! I seriously hope I can find somebody else to do my taxes next year but Turbo Tax was fine this year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never Again The TurboTax for business for Georgia is not usable. No matter what you do it asks for information on your film company. Will not let you file without this information which of course I do not have. I called to get help which they advertise but they just said no one there knows. They said I had to get another service to help for the bargain basement price of $999. I got my own tax form from the state and filled it out myself.I will use another product next year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tax Accountants Aren't As Thorough & Knowledgeable I paid for the full service for three years now. Accountants are not familiar with filing status and what qualifies for HOH and for the EIC status... when the IRS clearly states to qualify, the child must live with you for more than half the year. Every year, they tell me I qualify (I went through a divorce), but they don't know why or can tell me where they are getting their information from. We have exactly 50/50 custody. IRS clearly states "live with for more than half the year" NOT "half the year or more". Three years later, after much frustration, I finally got an accountant to go back to their "team of experts" to confirm how and why I qualify. The response didn't exactly make me feel confident. 1. I have my divorce decree that states we have 50/50 (to help me qualify for HOH), and 2. my ex-spouse makes too much to qualify for the EIC, so he wouldn't apply for it anyways (which also requires that the child(ren) live with me for more than half the year. Whoa... then what would happen if he made less and we both wanted to receive the EIC? Surely the IRS would then come after one or both of us! Yikes! So very not confident with that response. Every year, the accountants have fibbed on the forms, stating that they live with me for 7 months (on one form) and 184 days (on a different form). This makes me really uneasy and worried that the IRS will question my tax return and hence, why I pay for the full service and guarantee. But it's really a hassle to work with the accountants. This latest accountant, would tell me to go ahead and sign the return. I insisted that I read through each line item before signing. Which I am glad I did. Every single time I checked the return, there would be an error that needed correction. When they corrected one error, it would change the info in other places BUT the most frustrating part is that they don't review the entire form and correct all the other information that gets messed up. Instead, they waste my time, by telling me that it's fixed and ready to sign. A process that should only take a week... took over a month to complete. I was beyond frustrated. They would tell me not to worry, everything is correct because it's all automatically calculated by the software. Yes, I'm fully aware of that. But the calculations are based on human data entry. Errors ranged from: misspelled name, adding an extra digit when entering the DOB for a qualifying child, confusing the children's names when telling me which would help me qualify for EIC, stating that the younger one would qualify me for more (but they used the older one's name), stating that the children lived with me for 365 days of the year, when we had several conversations about how they live with me 50/50. Only pay for the full service if you are in a situation where you are worried about the IRS checking your return as Turbo Tax has the guarantee that if I had to pay back, they would refund me whatever I had to pay back. That's the only reason to give it a fair rating. I paid a lot of money for an accountant and my expectation is that they will always review their work before telling their client that it's all good to go and ready for signing.
