Rated 2 out of 5 by from Program Won't Allow Attaching 1099 The form instructions state that the 1099 is required to be attached to the 1041 return when a summary entry is used for investment transactions, but the program does not allow anything to be attached except for Form 8453-FE. The work around I used was to merge the 1099 with the Form 8453-FE outside of TurboTax and then attach the merged file as the Form 8453-FE. The Business version (which is required for Trust 1041 returns) does not allow importing 1099's from a Brokerage. Every Trust probably has Brokerage transactions. The personal version has the function but not the higher priced Business version. Stupid.
