Rated 1 out of 5 by from This service almost cost us $6000 on our taxes They incorrectly categorized our backdoor Roth IRAs as IRA distributions among other mistakes and our tax liability was off by about $6000. I had to spend a week of correspondences over the phone and via their chat arguing with the tax preparer to fix it. They kept trying to explain why I was wrong and that they had another reviewer look over their work, but they finally fixed it. I thought I was the crazy one and had to look up all the IRS public statements regarding backdoor Roth IRAs just to be sure I was right. The fact that the secondary review didn't catch that mistake is even more concerning because it makes me think that they just quickly review taxes without paying attention to details. Of course the whole reason to use this service rather than do it ourselves is so that they will handle the details. Subsequently I had to double check everything else because I had lost trust in my tax preparer. At the end of the day, I wasted both my money as well as my time which is worth more than the money it costs to use this service. If you are filing personal taxes, even if it is moderately complicated, you're better off just preparing your own taxes.
