Rated 1 out of 5 by from Annoying upsells and some missing information Constantly bombarded with upsells throughout the process of something that's already stressful. Two things that were incredibly frustrating beyond that were the refund not including a few tax breaks like the federal child credit until the very end, making me think through this whole process that I was going to owe thousands to the IRS. And there was a supposed penalty, but zero explanation about it or why it was there or how to handle it. Really terrible experience this year. I may just deal with the headache of exporting all my historical records to a different service. This was the kind of experience that makes people want to push for the IRS to just internalize this process so we don't have to guess at how much we owe each year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from it was just ok for me this year last year went very smoothly except i didn't understand what i did with the child tax credit and didn't get any of it throughout this past year. then this year i got married and had questions about our part time 10-99's info entered and my child tax credit info and wasn't sure if i'd done it all correctly and i thought i'd def paid extra to have the services of tax professionals to help me if i needed it.....so when i called one and got them on the phone they were very rude and nasty and wanted to know why i was calling and stated they couldn't help me, but could help with how to put the info into the system... when i asked about who could help me with if i'd did it correctly because that service was offered and i paid for it she was clueless and rude.... i hung up and never got help... just filed my taxes and still not sure it was done correctly. if i'm audited i blame turbotax. i def won't use them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Back with TurboTax I first started with TurboTax decades ago when it was my very first, go-to, DIY tax filing software. I ran it upon an early Macintosh with a B&W screen (running system/OS 6... egad!!) back in the pre-Internet days. But even then, it was a revelation just to be able to bypass an accountant to do my own taxes at a fraction of the cost. Since then I've used mostly TurboTax throughout the years, though I've admittedly sometimes strayed away to competitors when better deals seemed to be offered (in the recent past). But lately, have not been impressed with how HRB and other products have worked, so I'm back to my ol' reliable standard, TurboTax, now in the online edition. I do wish that it were easier to access the underlying tax forms, prior to filing, the way it used to be, but otherwise, I'm very satisfied with Intuit's longstanding, reliable product.
