Rated 1 out of 5 by from TurboTax Online Premier was not user friendly!!! For the past 10 years I have downloaded either TurboTax Deluxe or TurboTax Basic. And now that my wife and I are retired and no longer own a home, we are only able to prepare our taxes using the standard deduction. It took a while to find your online version and find my account. Once found, I was unable to have your online system populate my 2020 tax information into my 2021 return -- as I was always able to do in the past. So before I began KEYING in my 2020 tax information, I decided to use TurboTax's customer service phone number for assistance. The first representative was able to come onto my laptop in an attempt to help me but was unable to do so. I lost an hour of my time. Then I called back and got another representative to come online. They were not familiar with my MacBook Pro and put me on hold to get assistance. The person took forever to return and I simply had to disconnect. At least another hour wasted. I finally just proceeded to complete the tax forms on my own. Several of my income sources and amounts were listed twice, requiring me to carefully delete the duplicates. After I completed all the sections, I wound up owing around $3,000. (I am still not confident that this is the correct amount -- as I always was in past years!!!) And after filling out all the payment information, I assumed my Federal return was complete and filed. BUT three days later I noticed the payment did not show up in my checking account entries. Being unsure whether IRS received my payment and my return, I called the TurboTax customer service number again. For whatever reason the TurboTax software did not prompt me to go to the last section for filing my return. The representative was then able to walk me through the final steps. This year's tax preparation took much longer than necessary. And I am still not sure whether I filed the correct amount of taxes due, nor whether I only paid once. THE $74 I PAID FOR TURBOTAX PREMIER WAS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT. NEXT YEAR I MAY LOOK FOR ALTERNATE TAX FILING PRODUCTS.

All you have to do is update. I feel confident that everything is right and that they direct me if I have skipped something. Love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Infuriating Not only is it no longer free to file for many in the same positions as they were in last year, Turbo tax is also charging a 40$ fee for paying for them with your refund. If you owe nothing you are being charged 50$ for filing both federal and 50$ for state, possibly an additional 60$ for deluxe, go ahead and add on another 40$ to that on top of every other infuriation that involves the American tax system.
