Rated 5 out of 5 by bobbydimes12 from easy to use It's a self-explanatory process with fun transitions. Best and easy way to file.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rube1 from Changed value in step-by-step not on forms. I entered shareholder health insurance in the wrong place and later went back and changed it. It did NOT get changed on the forms, but did show as changed on the step-by-step. Took HOURS to find that problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boston Doc from Another Satisfying Tax Return Experience Turbotax communicates well with the user. It seems every tax niche is covered at some point in the process. Being able to go back and review, edit, or add is well engineered. The software does not rush the user with impatient messages like "Save Now or Loose Your Data".

Rated 4 out of 5 by xxx5wyi4j9t334 from good but still need improvement I mean really, do I even know if this is accurate? So, I'm just guessing it is. Overall, I'm happy with the product and every year it gets easier with fewer problems, though partly that may be because the number and complexity of my investments has dropped. My biggest issues are that it's hard to find out how to actually see how your return will look. I understand and agree one should have to pay for the product before seeing it but it took multiple calls before finding out I could even see what my final return would look like which is critical in assuring accuracy before submitting returns. So, you should somehow instruct up front how to do this and inform that you can't do this until you pay. Which is fair enough as long as there is some refund policy in the rare case that turbotax can't be used for one's return. My second issue is how often you try to upsell upgraded products. Over and over and over. A few minor things that need polishing. The foreign tax credits/amounts paid section is difficult. Not really TT's fault, it doesn't appear clearly on 1099's but maybe that's something you can push the industry to doing. I have no idea if I got the right numbers inputted. I don't like the whole section on if you should itemize or take the standard deduction. I think there is outright wrong information in your program. At one point it said I had exceeded my deduction amount for certain items, which may be true for these certain items. But you have no limit on your deductions from other categories. I'm pretty sure in the end the standard deduction worked better for me but I'm not sure or confident. I think there must be a better/faster/easier way to determine if standard or itemized deduction would work better for you. Why enter for ages data on medical expenses, charitable contributions... when it means nothing in the end and also generates pages and pages of worksheets when you could just have some questions saying unless these items add up to a certain amount don't bother itemizing and take the standard deduction. I have in my notes there was some issue with if my 21 state taxes owed and paid in 22 got included in the itemized deductions list. My notes I kept on problems I had along the way are cryptic but I think there was some problem with the program doing this. I had problems with investments I have held for years that declared bankruptcy years ago but had lawsuits pending and finally came to resolution. When these investments were now worthless I had capital losses but no 1099. It would be nice to have questions/forms... to address this scenario. As it is I just manually entered data and am hoping it doesn't look strange and trigger an audit. Again my notes are cryptic but at one point I was asked to check what data/figures were entered on a form 6251 but I could not find any such form in my returns. This may relate to the problem that you can't view your return til you pay for your return. Lastly, I cannot tell you how much I HATE your automated response center. Clearly you just want people to hang up/give up/ not call. If you want to direct people to self help, tell them where it is, don't force us to be texted/emailed and send us promptly to a human.
