Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is not awesome A few hiccups this year: to begin with, I struggled to transmit data from online return from last year to download version this year. A little advice on how to access previous returns and the need to go further into the online program than seems necessary would have helped. More importantly, I had to override the recommendation to use my itemized deductions because Turbotax failed to exclude my Qualified Charitable Distributions from the Sch D charitable donations, which would have resulted in an above the line as well as below the line deduction for the same item. Plus, I always have a problem saving the return to PDF rather than printing all 100 pages because I have to go to the print screen and then find the drop down menu that allows me to save rather than print. All that being said, I continue to use the product after 10 some odd years.

Once inside the program, it suggests other things that will take away from the free filing. The discounted filing ended up being a $5 discount. My return is a simple return and shouldn't cost $115 for federal and $55 for state. I don't have the protection of the other level of service as I didn't have another $50 to give you.

Every step was as clear as a bell, every question was clear and concise, and TurboTax Free edition clearly told me where I could get any of the data it needed to complete the return. It was a breeze from start to finish, thanks to TurboTax

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes doing taxes painless I'm a procrastinator. I hate doing taxes. But once I get into them, I find out how I can just breeze through them thanks to TurboTax. The 'walk me through it' method is a life saver! I do have some odd things, and once I figure out how to enter them, I can always refer to the previous year to see how I set things up.
