Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for the basics If you're a W-2 employee, it's quick and easy to use. But for 1099 employees, it was hard to find where to enter that info and related deductions. There was also a "glitch" if I only had mileage for 6 months of the year. It would not accept 0 as an option for the first 6 months of the year. Unless that was resolved, TurboTax would not e-file my taxes. I could only get help if I paid for the Live Assistance. I have never had such a difficult time doing my taxes since I started using TurboTax.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stress Free Taxes I appreciate the ease of "doing my taxes" using Turbo Tax. I am confident in the guide I receive. This year it felt like there were to many "tricky" offers to increase the service - extra services I did not need. If I did not read VERY carefully I could have been led to make purchases I did not need. I did not like this extra layer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inaccuracies, Unhelpful Assistance The TurboTax questions made it very difficult to accurately report doing a backdoor Roth IRA conversion. It defaults to reporting the conversion as a capital gains taxable event. When I used the ask for assistance chat feature, David H had no idea what I was talking about and insisted that it must just be a taxable event. I was able to find the answer and how to input the data on TurboTax via google, as opposed to the chat with expert feature or website search bar. Additionally, reporting military reserve expenses is very difficult, does not provide the correct definition for qualifying expenses, and does allow the correct fields to input qualifying expenses. Lastly, the screens for reporting capital gains in Oklahoma do not allow the ability to fully edit the OK Form. It instead asks a question to fill in missing information, but does not state what transaction the data is being asked for. This results in inputting data for the wrong transaction.
