Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hidden Fees and Misleading Wording Everywhere I dislike Turbotax, but I've been with them long enough that it's like an old worn out glove. There are fees everywhere, and attempts to upgrade you at every turn. For example, there's the hidden fee that appears when you e-file- but it's not hidden because it's in the iTunes like agreement you signed. Then there's the misleading statements about needing 3rd party authorization so they can sell your data. They word it in such a way that makes it seem like it's a good thing and you should sign it! You don't have to sign it and you shouldn't but Turbo Tax does anyway to try to get you on the dotted line.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MY TAX RETURN I HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX FOR MANY YEARS. I FIND IT THE EASIEST TO USE AND HAVE HAD GREAT HELP FROM THE LIVE TAX EXPERTS WHEN NEEDED. I RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM FOR ANYONE WHO WISHES TO DO THEIR OWN TAXES

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I will use it again it works Every year TurboTax evolves to adapt to the tax code. I trust it. Previous years it worked well, but this year I had trouble to download my transactions directly from institutions like TD Ameritrade and I had to put it in manually. That wasted a lot of time and raised doubts with me as I don't trust my own knowledge on the terminology used and I may make unintended mistakes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GLAD TO FINISH I have always used TaxCut (now called H&R Block at home) and been very satisfied. This year I began my return with them and the format had changed. I thought the information was unclear and I wound up in the dark on several entries. I switched to Turbo Tax and found it a little easier. There were probably some things that I did not understand but overall it seemed easier than HR Block, at least this year. I also felt more confident at the end with Turbo Tax. Turbo Tax was a lot more expensive and wanted to charge me for a state return even though I live in Texas, where I do not have to file a state return (God Bless Texas)
