Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tool I used to use TurboTax and as my life got more complicated, I started using accountants. Then I realized they are just using software like TurboTax. They have helped with some sticky situations, but I don't think it was anything I could not figure out myself. Also, I realized I still have to do the hard part (gathering all the correct materials) if I use an accountant or not. So, now I've gone back to using Turbo Tax (even with complicated returns) and it all works just fine. And, I'm in control of the process, takes place on my schedule and I save money.

My fee went from $29 dollars to $119 dollars just to unlock simple software that was already available. Most other softwares allowed complete federal/state completion before requiring payment. You now got me through federal then required payment before completing state. Then required additional payment for state. I will be reviewing my options next year.
