Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and Excellent My wife and I have used Turbo Tax for the past several years. It's easy and informative. We use Quicken (another Intuitive Product) to get a good picture of our finances.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible and buggy software. DO NOT DO THIS. If you are an active trader, DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARE. Encountered numerous bugs when importing 1099-B's from multiple brokerages. It broke the return so badly that even after deleting all of the investment data, there were ghost entities screwing up calculations that could not be removed from the UI. It one point it created a discrepancy of $2,000,000 between my federal and state income. Trying to cheap out on using a real CPA and using this garbage really back-fired. Don't make the same mistake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great I love Turbotax, I used them now to file my own taxes for 4 years in a row. As a single student I found the free edition of turbo tax amazing. This is the first year I actually paid for turbo tax services for a total of $110. The only downside was that because I was in school and qualified for a credit they charged me $60 bucks without any other option because they did not provide this option of a return on the free edition. I do think this sucks because a student paying out of pocket for school and expenses it should just be something given and not look for anyway to charge the customer. It also charged me $50 for my State return which I did not understand why and i had no other option to pick from so I had to go with it. This is the first year experiencing this because prior years I always used the free version. Granted they let you pay now or take it out of your return which is cool but if you do qualify to take it out of your return they will had an additional $45 charge for the service which I think it defeats the purpose but then again you don't pay anything out of pocket. I like how easy and fast turbo tax is though. Most of my information auto-populates because I have used them before but even if you have a new W-2 once you enter you name and basic information you have the option to auto-populate or enter the information yourself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Challenging at Time I have used your product for years but there is still a high level of anxiety that I am getting everything correct

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had to pay $120 to ask question about interface On the plus side, TurboTax is overall easy to use. It's a little cute and annoying, but it works. HOWEVER: I'm frustrated. There's a logic problem with the way TurboTax asks about high deductible health plan coverage. I have my wife covered under my family plan, so for me, I selected Family (rather than Self or None). Then it asked about my wife's coverage. She's on my family plan, so I selected Family. The dialog next asked me why her coverage had lapsed. I could choose Coverage Lapsed Because of a Disability, or Coverage Lapsed for Another Reason. Neither applied--her coverage didn't lapse. Attempting to get past this just resulted in looping, so I was forced to agree to $120 fee to be able to ask questions. The nice support guy admitted that this is a logical ambiguity in the software, and just told me to choose "Another Reason" and keep going. So on the advice of TT's expert, I had to choose an untrue answer. And I paid $120 for the privilege. Not fair.
