But if you have anything "complicated" (retirement programs, HSA, simple deductions, etc.) they will force you to pay additional fees. I have filed with them in the past with the exact same situation and have never had to pay. Disappointed that they wait until you are halfway through filing to be told your situation is too complex for the free product.

Being a TT customer for 5+ years its super easy to navigate. I was on a dead line and had to file today so I am not happy about the cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turbotax got all but $8 of Fed due to unemployment The turbotax high upcharge of forcing you to use deluxe to include one more form of income which is unemployment is ridiculous. I've used TurboTax every year but this past year my wife had health issues which we deducted on taxes that did nothing and on top of this our fed taxes were only $168 to which TurboTax took $145 out just to file that we had unemployment and state tax filing charge. This will be my last year using TurboTax if I can help it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is Accurate Federal pretty straightforward. Same outcome as HR Block online. However, not so with Michigan. Block was taxing all my social security benefits which is incorrect. Turbo Tax handled this correctly. Getting a state refund instead of owing. Prepared taxes for 20 years so I found Turbo Tax easy to navigate and thorough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Six Years and Counting I've been using TurboTax for six years. I once paid someone what amounted to my tax return that year to do my taxes. I'll never do that again. TurboTax helps you get it done every step of the way.
