Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax Deluxe: Good for basic income taxes TurboTax Deluxe is fair to good for basic income taxes. If you have unique situations and require tax breaks on numerous items, I'd suggest an actual income tax expert (CPA) instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to use for my first time filing This is the first time I have filed my taxes and I had moved between sates. Turbo Tax helped me file my Federal taxes and also both State taxes. It was easy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too many rough spots Error checks turn up frequent items that need boxes checked or entry carried over from another place. This stuff ought to have been part of hte interview or copied as appropriate. Filing this year was a mess: state return (CA) was rejected for no obvious reason and Intuit's explanation did not make sense. I resubmitted the _same_ return and it was accepted. No doubt Intuit and CA's Tax agency will point fingers at each other but at the end of the day we're counting on Intuit to make this smooth. Overall summary: too many rough spots. Intuit needs to put more effort into cleaning this product up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of use! We have been using Turbo Tax for almost 6 years now, it's easy to use and makes filing your own return simple. We love that it takes you step by step to make sure you are doing everything correctly!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TurboTax is off their game in 2021 First, information that should be easily transferable from a previous year‘s return also done on TurboTax isn’t for some reason. Instead the customer has to go through a complicated process of sifting through their personal email or looking up a printed copy of the return from last year to get simple information like what were the tax preparation fees I paid to TurboTax last year. Second, my state return gets rejected because of a “software error” which requires me to go back into my Federal return (per the instructions) and when I do that causes an error message about a W-2c which states that based on information I’ve entered into my federal return I have deferred some Social Security taxes from the previous year and will be getting an amended W-2 (none of which is correct). I then wait an hour for a specialist to call me to resolve this issue and after two seconds of listening to my situation he says “nope, I can’t help you” and transfers me to another telephone queue where I wait for almost a half an hour to have someone tell me another hour later that they have no idea why the error message occurred or what to do to fix it. I then asked if someone could look at my federal return to determine if somehow it now got corrupted because of me following the directions to go back into it. I’m told “sure” and I’m e-mailed a link only to find out that the only way that’s going to happen is if I pay another $170 to TurboTax. Unbelievable! The service doesn’t seem that “Premier” anymore. After many years of successfully using TurboTax to prepare my taxes, honestly, this may be my last year.
