Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax with the Assist! TurboTax has a lot of great tools and information options that made filing federal and state taxes straight forward and smooth, especially for those of us who do not require complex tax reporting....and who like to put things off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to use but not economical Last year I paid about $260 for someone to prepare my taxes for me. I was in a bind and forgot to do my taxes this year so I had to do it last minute. I chose Turbo Tax. I expected it to be significantly cheaper since I'm doing the brunt of the work myself. However, I saved less than $15 dollars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from costco purchase I will never again use the cheap costco desktop discount version. It is incredibly buggy for mac and that's being kind. I am highly adaptable to most new software products and must say, this needs much development to prove user friendly. Just hope it pays my tax.

It automatically inputs W-2 income, investment statements, etc. We only had some small glitches with my wife's Schedule C, since the categories on Turbo Tax do not quite match those on the Schedule C form. It's been that way for several years, and it's not a huge deal, but someone should change that. We've been doing our taxes with Turbo Tax for many years now; we used to use H & R Block, but we've gotten better results with Turbo Tax, and it's easier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Spammy Once a quality service. Now, too many ads for upsells throughout the process; it's disorienting. If you fall for one of their 'UX Dark Patterns' (look it up), and accidentally click on one of the upgrade products, then in order to downgrade they will make you clear you ENTIRE tax return that you likely already spent significant time on filling out. It used to be no-brainer for me to use Turbo Tax. Due to the dark patterns this year, I ended up paying an extra $50-60. Because of that I will not be using them again in the future. So yes, you won an extra $50 this time, but lost a life long customer and I won't recommend this tool in the future.
