Rated 1 out of 5 by from A nightmare of a filing experience with TurboTax From the start of my filing attempts back in February or March, the online version of TurboTax was a disaster. I never was able to finish my return that way. Ultimately, an online assistant -- the fourth or fifth I spoke with over some 12+ hours -- told me candidly that she couldn't help and offered me the downloaded desktop version to see if that would work. Two full days later, I discovered a meandering path to completion by essentially giving up on trying to import any of my financial information and working somewhat tediously to enter it manually. That, of course, set the stage for an endless series of questions about various data inputs. A huge flaw in the system is that the review process tells you that an entry is needed -- without taking you to the form or even telling you which income or tax item to look for specifically and where it might be found. Not even whether it is in one of my income sources or one of my wife's. There is no reason why it cannot point the taxpayer directly at the place in the form that needs correcting. This is likely my last year with TurboTax. I wound up also using the HR Block online system for a couple of weeks, too. The results were amazingly close -- but getting it right was incredibly stressful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax Easy Turbo Tax Deluxe was easy to use. However if you are self-employed like I am, be sure to use EXACTLY the same description of your activity when adding 1099-NEC forms or else you will end up with multiple Schedule C's. However if you go to Forms and click on the unwanted C's and DELETE them (button at the bottom of the window) then open each 1099-NEC form and "link" them (right-click on the activity description in the form) to the correct C you will be OK. That is the ONLY problem I had with the program.

First, all possible fees need to be disclosed upfront, such as additional state fee, state e-filing fees, audit representation fee,...etc Second, for the forms that need to be printed in addition to e-filing only 8543 is shown and not the attachment to be printed. Third, it was an issue calculating medical expenses
