Rated 3 out of 5 by from So-So Experience this Year Unlike a relatively smooth expericence last year, my experience for my 2020 return was full of hiccups. I did a backdoor conversion to a Roth IRA. It took me several tries to get a competent person who was knowledgeable about my situation. Most "tax experts" were not really experts at all. They gave me incorrect information or could not answer my question. About 1 in 4 people I talked to actually were knowledgeable enough to give me the answers I needed, unlike last year when I only need to talk to two people, one was a CPA and the other a tax attorney. This year's offering of people were a lot less qualified. Another problem I had was initiating a line by line review. The "expert" I spoke to initiate this process ended up giving me a full service account which then froze my access to TT for 36 hours. I tried calling about this issue the same day and the CPA I spoke to told me he would put a request into fix it by the next day. It did not get fixed. So, I had to call the next day and spent 20 minutes, speaking to two people before my issue finally got fixed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Imports were a failure this year The import of my W-2 from my employer (PDF) and 1099 from Fidelity (website connection) were a giant fail. Turbo Tax created issues for both of them which caused all sorts of headache. I ultimately had to go back and manually input the data (after much frustration with trying to figure out what was happening). Then all was good. Very disappointed since I've used Turbo Tax for about decade without issue (prior to this experience).
