Rated 5 out of 5 by from User Friendly A new upgrade, you can upload your W2s and other data instead of inputting by hand, minimizes mistakes! If you're a new user, I think you will find it user friendly and pretty straightforward. Not sure if TT wants me to advertise this, but the basic will meet most of our needs. $40 for federal, $40 for state, and $40 for direct deposit. I think its a bit much but happy for the efficiency. Unless you have a business or you plan on itemizing, you should be good to go with the basic service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Issues I always come across issues with this, this time there was a select an option box that I accidentally left at the default "choose a county", and though selecting nothing shouldn't even be accepted as an option, it still let me continue. I gave the false sense of security with it with its "combing through details" animation, so I sent it off to have my state fail. Not only is it unwelcome to get the following audit email, but my second-time going to fix it, rather them taking me to the issue, it sends me a message that was convoluted with a 90% unrelated CD chat. After that, it tried to funnel me straight to resending it without fixing the error! Every year there is always something a bit off about turbotax. Last year I paid for the full-on service to help me with my double account but they couldn't help. I wish I didn't have to make their second account in the first place but sometimes is you want to go back a day later and fix a miss understood error, it won't let you without finishing the section which isn't ideal, but nothing compared to the issues of having a second account. Another thing that is kind of odd, you cant select the type in certain areas which is just a strange web design. I imagine I am one of the few that keeps running into these rabbit holes but after a few years, I felt I should say something.
