Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is the best there is. Alas. I've been using Turbo Tax since 2004. Most years the software has been good, with a few caveats. First, it's heavy handed with promotion about its own products. It's especially hard to get through the filing portion without accidentally signing up for Intuit's Credit Karma service. Second caveat. The online version for 2022 is not as functional as prior versions. It's like maybe I should have waited until April to file so Intuit could get more bugs worked out of the program. It was really clunky and most of the help menus didn't work. I checked my ad blocker settings to make sure it wasn't me keeping the help menu from functioning. The third caveat is that if you have to enter LLC Schedule K-1 profit and loss, the process is really cumbersome, ESPECIALLY if you have rental property income in addition to regular business income reported on the same K-1. It's really easy to miss one or the other. IF THIS IS YOU, CHECK YOUR FINAL RETURN CAREFULLY. For most of the years I've used Turbo Tax I've had a rental property and an LLC with multiple members. The last two years I had no rental properties, but had self-employment income as a single member LLC. Those two years I used the online version. In prior years I've used the downloaded version. So, would I use Turbo Tax again? Yes. But I wish there was something better.
