Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really Buggy Year With The Software!! This year was the worse experience. The instructions were not clear regarding paying for the filing of STATE and Federal together. I paid a fee thinking I was paying for State and Federal E filing and kept getting an error stating Your transmission didn't go through We could not e-file your return for the following reason: Our records indicate that you are not entitled to efile one or more formsets. Now after going through four different service reps which by the way took 36 minutes, 32 minutes, 28 minutes and finally 54 minutes of hold time to reach a rep. Did I mention I also requested a call back twice and each time the calls were dropped. The phone would click over and then go silent and never get to speak to anyone. Oh yeh and I finally got through chat only to have the guy somehow end our meeting before I could even explain my situation. I have been very cool calm and collect with each live associate. The last one whose name was Eugene went as far as to notify me that It was a big confusion regarding paying of State at the end when payment is due. All the whiles I thought with confidence I had already paid for State E filing as I have used your service multiple years because of its simplicity in past years. You changed the formula of comprehension this year. Long story short is The system was giving me the error message [Your transmission didn't go through We could not e-file your return for the following reason: Our records indicate that you are not entitled to efile one or more formsets.] Because I had not paid for State E Filing yet your program asked me if I want to file both together and of course I said YES and it promptly took me to payment page. I paid thinking State and Federal were paid simultaneously. No... I would have never figured that out because Your Program was Trying To File Both and I had not Paid For State, thus the error code I mentioned. I'm writing this as I hope others are spared the unnecessary headache of trying to figure out that error code. I could go on but just please include a better understanding that you are not paying for State and Federal at the same time although it is listed as so. I want to say I give Ben and Eugene a ***** Rating as they were both Outstanding in helping to resolve the matter. I also spoke with a gentleman James who helped with what he thought was the issue. Eugene took it over the top and I was finally able to E File. Thanks again Eugene!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Excessive additional fees When I started using turbo tax is was just a small fee to file my state taxes. I am now charged to file any taxes at all, charged for paying for the charge, charged for state taxes, charged for federal taxes, and receive no more assistance than I did when I started. The entire process still makes no sense and their explanations require a masters degree in quantum tax theory to understand. Nothing in my life has changed in the last several years, yet the fees to process the same nothing have increased by 4 times as much. I will be looking into competitors next tax season to see if they still offer a tax prep process for those with insanely simple taxes that doesn't charge you for the lice, extra for the mice, and 2% for looking in the mirror twice.
