Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unbelievable I could not use free, and had to pay $89 for federal and $39 for state, plus tax, equaling almost $140, simply because I had to import a single for on the sale of stock. I sold a single stick, when the company I had stock in was bought out and taken private, forcing me to sell. I lost almost $1200 in that forced sale. I'd have been able to file for free if not for the fact that I had to document that loss, and in so doing, it cost me an additional $140. Absolutely insane. Considering I just lost my job unexpectedly, less than a month ago, when the single owner of the business I worked for died, leading to shutting doors and no severance, I find myself in very delicate financial straights, and the need to spend $140 I don't have, to file for my taxes, simply because I had to record a loss of income in stocks, put a sour taste in my mouth.
