I used to have a CPA that would charge a quarter of what I was making in my refund. Now, I gather my papers, add in a few numbers to the site, answer some questions and it's done! Seeing my refund total within an hour makes it so satisfying doing it all myself. I will definitely be using this program next year!

Rated 3 out of 5 by CHS63 from Turbo Tax Good but needs improvement Using TurboTax Deluxe was fairly easy, but it was difficult to find the option to get my Federal refund with an i-Bond purchase. Turbo Tax strongly encouraged people to get their refund via Direct Deposit. It was only when I chose "Refund via Check" that the option to get i-Bonds showed up. The i-Bond option should be more prominent on the same page as the Direct Deposit option.

If you have a simple tax return, you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Live Assisted Basic or TurboTax Live Full Service Basic at the listed price.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
