Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Experience with TurboTax The online version of TT was just as easy as buying and using the CD or downloaded file.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 4 Hour tax return asked way too many questions. It should not take 4 hours to do my taxes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, easy and dependable. I've been filing with Turbo Tax for the past 5 years, and it continues to be a great service. Very easy to navigate through, and I trust that everything is being done as it should.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nightmarish Experience Didn't import last year's taxes like it used to. Questions were not nearly as clear as last year. Didn't even ask for my SSA-1099, has to keep looking around until it randomly popped up (thank goodness, no idea where it even was). Worst of all, forced me to sign/commit to using them upfront, without finding out later on that they only allow payment through auto-deduction from my return...which of course they charge $40 for. Total joke! They also have a part where they ask you to upgrade, after previously telling you that I had to upgrade because of my HSA. I almost selected that as if it were the same upgrade only to find out it was an additional one...always trying to make extra money off of me. I will NEVER use TurboTax again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I won't be using turbotax again next year I had completed the federal return, and moved onto the state. About halfway through the state return I realized my federal return number suddenly went up by $1500. I went back and reviewed, and the software had changed my spouses W-2 and put it under my name and social security. It also changed all the bank account interest information around. I had to go back and fix everything, and again then it actually removed a W-2. I went through it 4 times, and again just before filing to make sure it was correct. Then Turbotax (not the state of California) rejected my state review due to an "update to their software" which may have added more deductions. It did not, but I had to go back through the process of filing again. Awful software, and I will be looking elsewhere next year for something more straightforward. Oh, one final thing. The first time I tried to post a review (before I had to file for the second time with this process) it stated it could not post a one-star review because it "detected" add blocking. This software is a joke.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its good but has a glitch when filing stocks There was an error when filing dividends and stock trading info and what not but an expert commented on how to avoid it but its still an issue that needs to be resolved. Here's their answer in case you run across the error as well: "The error messaging you are seeing with regard to the wash sale entries is a result of automatic rounding of the number imported from your broker or typed in by you. If the wash sale adjustment is $0.49 or less, then it is automatically rounded to zero. This type of rounding is allowed by the IRS. Unfortunately, zero is not a valid value for this field -- thus the error message. To resolve the issue, you can edit each individual transaction and delete the amount entered in the wash sale adjustment if it is $0.49 or less. This will clear the error message. To do this, you will need to revisit the input section for the Form 1099-B transactions. Use the following steps: On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner) This opens a box where you can type in “1099-B” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find) The search results will give you an option to “Jump to 1099-B” Click on the blue “Jump to 1099-B” link Click Edit beside the institution name Click Edit beside each transaction that contains a wash sale adjustment amount of $0.49 or less Delete the wash sale adjustment amount and click Done"

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A normally great experience turned sour I've always used turbo tax but this years return was a pain. If an import of information failed, TT forced me to enter the information manually. I was not able to go back to download the info online. I had a difficult time removing accounts and reconciling the info that should have been imported automatically. Very frustrating
