Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tricked me into buying Self-employed program After I clicked “pay my taxes” it took me to this screen where it said State $100 & Federal $50 (or the reverse I can’t remember) and ask me to put in my card information . I thought I was paying my taxes, but I wasn’t! They tricked me into buying software I didn’t need and can’t use (I am not self-employed). I requested a refund 4 times AND called and they denied my request every time. I will NEVER use this site ever again. So disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax is good - but with one BIG bug/flaw I'm a TT user for many years, and as usual it made this crazy complex chore, especially when dealing with investments, a lot easier - almost a pleasure. Would be 5 stars, but one bug or flaw has crept in to the program that caused me over-the-top frustration. In searching for help online, I discovered many other users experiencing the same problem: any time the program opens a secondary browser-type window, such as to call up It's Deductible, the new window does not correctly sense the computer's display resolution and scaling. This makes it very difficult if not impossible to read and interact with a form being displayed. The worst was just prior to filing, trying to buy e-filing for my state. It took me over an hour to do this one thing, and had me worried I would not be able to e-file at all, having to constantly switch scaling to see every change, and having to type credit card info in the blind. This is a top priority MUST FIX for TT 2021 tax year program!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Final Steps are not well supported TT2020 was the easiest to use version so far. The "hints" (".... don't enter it here; it will be addressed later on" etc.) were a big stress reducer. However, the final steps of saving and printing are poorly supported. Saving the return as a *.pdf is fine but not having the option to specify were it would be saved or even telling me where it would be saved. One with lessor familiarity with Windows Explorer would have a hard time with this. It was also difficult to distinguish the file names of the filing copy and the retention copy. THERE SHOULD BE BUILT-IN UTILITY TO MAKE BACKUP COPIES OF BOTH THE tt-data AND THE returns TO A USB DRIVE OR CD - an AIR-GAPPED BACKUP IS ESSENTIAL THESE DAYS! I was VERY disappointed when TT did not import information for my rental properties from MY 2019 return. I cannot help but think you removed this functionality when I declined the in-app $30 offer to update from Basic to Premier.
