I hit one software bug which I suspect is related to the client rendering: Loading last years return > MFS > my 1040 > enter my AGI > spouse's 1040 > bug: the "confirm AGI" box was pre-loaded with my AGI (box 11) from prev form stage.

When I finally got to WVA state form where I chose step by step instructions....well it never transferred the data into the form nor did it ever ask me about a house sale...TurboTax took me right to the end and after the "Review and Check" proclaimed I had no errors and asked me if I wanted to e-file...I'm like ...What?...I had $27,500 of capital gains in which I had to pay taxes on....needless to say I had to go line by line through the form and fill it in myself...TurboTax is a joke!Tom

I hate that I HAVE to use a program like TurboTax because companies like TurboTax pay congress to keep it that way. This program is a useless third party that is only in this position because of corruption and government payouts. Bite me.

If you have a simple tax return, you can file for free with TurboTax Free Edition or TurboTax Live Assisted Basic. You can also file with TurboTax Live Full Service Basic at the listed price.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
