Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax is Great ... But Lost one star due to a number of year having values that do not save for next time through screens. If you have to correct a schedule C for example, the 1099 MISC "No" does not check. This happens elsewhere. I find myself over the 10+ year of use going back though screens a few times. These non-saving answers are very annoying. Also anyone buying a new business or selling one has to know to file form 8594 separately, and you don't have in federal forms! Seems like "Is this a new business? Was it purchased?" would be of value. Idaho state was even worse, nothing populated yes/no questions on second, third, forth ... run through. Also, only reason for Idaho was due to $2500+ gross sales, seems there should be an easier method to do this when you have a business loss, but sold some product in Idaho at a show! The "Did you have sales of $2500 or more in Idaho?" did come up, but then still asked every other question for non-resident! Seems like TurboTax could expedite non-resident entry for business that need to file just because of gross sales in state. Would be more business friendly. :-)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TurboTax Is so expensive now Just finished my son's taxes and OMG. I've used TurboTax for years and it just keeps getting more expensive. It started out free for my son, then went to $29, then jumped to TurboMax for $59. They lead you to think throughout the process that it's one standard fee but when you go to check out it's all separate. By the time I checked out it was $59 for federal, $59 for state, $59 for Max, and now a $39 processing fee to use your refund to pay for fees. The taxes are for my 19-year-old son who is in college. No reason whatsoever that it should cost $216 to process simple returns. I have used TurboTax for the past 9 years but will not be back next year.
