When I started the return, it stated "Great! A free state filing is included. Let's get started!" Then when it was time to actually e-file it, I got charged $25. What a rip off!

This year, I used Marketplace insurance. Not only did I find the questions lacking, I found calculation errors which Turbotax had to correct. I know this process is not that old, but I believe you could use some improvement in this area.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
