Rated 4 out of 5 by from Generally good Turbotax has done a lot of work to make it simpler. However, sometimes it is TOO smart for its own good, and it makes it difficult to make changes -- for example, a downloaded 1099 had the wrong payer's state in the address. It wouldn't let me e-file with a disagreement between state and zip code, and there was no way to change the state which it thought was Oregon. It did let me change the zip code, so I suppose I could have moved American Century's headquarters from Kansas City, MO to Kansas City, OR, but I just deleted the entire 1099 and re-entered it. Also, I could have sworn in prior years, it would keep track of my estimated payments and bring them into the current year, but this year I had to enter 2021 estimated payments manually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Income Tax Every year I rely on Turbo Tax to do my Income Tax. It is so much easier to actually get an accountant to do it for for you. As long as you follow the instructions Turbo Tax prompts you to do, you'll save a lot of money a. nd if you have a refund, you can file for direct deposit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is a Leech on Society Turbo Tax charged me $217 in order to have the privilege of adding a 1099 and 1098-T to my taxes. Everything turbo tax does could be provided for free as a basic form-filling software. Worse yet they don't alert you that these fees will be required until you have already entered most of your information and gotten half way through the process. I did not want to use your "service" but it was marginally preferable to navigating multiple different schedules in the IRS system.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TuboTax 2022 has lots of more bugs this year. Most of the pop up windows had gibberish in them that could only be read if I highlighted the text with my cursor. That wasn't possible with things like the document printing window. Also, the tax helpers could not see my screen, only black windows, so they had to "fly blind" to help me with some of the ambiguous instructions. TT is also quirky about applying part of NYS refunds to the next year, I had to go into the documents directly to get that to work. This is on a Windows 10 laptop using a desktop installed version. Things were a lot worse this year than in previous years. Too bad there is no better option available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax Is Excellent! I used to do my own taxes, but 13 years ago I started using TurboTax and it was the best decision. It is excellent, saves me time, and I am able to see all deductions and credits that may be applicable. I highly recommend.
