Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sent me in loops and didn’t ask the right question The software doesn’t handle exceptions and multi-state taxes well at all. I tried to file in two states, one of which doesn’t accept eFile. It was such a pain to get back to the right screen to deselect that state so I can eFile the federal and the other state. It wasted 20 minutes of my life for no good reason at all. They need to work on the phrasing and be smarter about asking the right questions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is NOT as good as it used to be You used to be able to see the forms as you were going through the tax preparation. Then you could easily skip to that part. I find it very inconvenient during times that I go back to check or modify something that I have to go through multiple steps indicating No, No, Yes, Yes again and again. ---- The tax help was friendly and useful to solve a problem that I was working on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Guidance Led Me In Loops Multiple Times 1) Logging into to financial institutions and importing info provided no meaningful info as to whether or not it was successful, or a report of the info added, leading me to believe it failed. Until I advanced to further screens this wasn't obvious. 2) Uploading my W2 form led to errors that I had to fix when Federally Efiling - these errors would not have occurred if I had been manually typing in the info. 3) Uploading my partner's W2 failed. It also was not obvious where that option was, after uploading mine and returning to it. 4) Selecting to be walked through/guided through all the options doesn't actually walk you through all the options, I repeatedly had to manually select options and "Visit All" to fill in info. Every year I continue to to be unhappy about using Turbo Tax, and pay more to get the Premier version, and every year I kick myself for not making a change.
