Rated 1 out of 5 by from Greatly Dissapointed In previous years the Deluxe was fine if you had any mutual; fund sales with gains or losses. Now you have to buy the Premier Edition. The software does not pick up the previous year info so you have to type everything in, Have to load the CD as you can't download on line as there is no place to type in the license number in the package. Does not download ADAP W2's. I have used Turbo Tax for 15+ years but will not use it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it so far! First time using Turbo Tax by myself. And to make it worse, I am filing my normal sole proprietorship return and also a new S Corp return. Turbo Tax has been very helpful so far. After filing 1099's, now filing extension.

I looked it up and tried all the suggestions. Nothing worked. I had to mail in the forms. Not very major in the long run but, it was very frustrating and extra work I had to make time for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A mixed bag I am doing this for my mom who is in nursing home. Two weeks after their shutdown in March 2020, she had several strokes. Normally, I get all of the info together and send it to her tax man that she’s been with for 50 years, at least. But I’ve had to rely on the facility to give me her mail so a lot of things have been missing through the year, including her 2019 completed taxes and three of her 1099-R forms. He would not do the taxes without the forms and I could not get replacements because they don’t care about DPA, you have to be a patient rep which takes month that I knew nothing about. I have the numbers but not the forms so he wouldn’t do them. So I turned to Turbo Tax. There are things that are not explained. I don’t have her e-filing number from last year but I had 2018 which did not work. How do I get a new one? I will have to investigate on the IRS site but it’s info like this that’s lacking. Another example is that I need vouchers to pay her quarterly taxes. The instructions told me what to do but they were I correct. So now I will have to go to the IRS again and try to figure out how much she needs to pay and make my own vouchers. This is because her fed taxes were 0, so they didn’t auto print. And customer service...zow. I had some issues the first day. I had completed her taxes without filing but the account had disappeared. When I tried to log in it said her ID didn’t exist! I brought up mine from three years ago and they were still there! So why...? The auto phone system is so frustrating. The job of that is to keep you from talking to anyone. The first time I got through, a woman answered and I either interrupted her nap or her TV program. I think she’s never used TurboTax and she didn’t have a computer in front of her. She offered no troubleshooting and just kept saying “huh.” I finally said goodbye. The next two times, someone answered then hung up without saying anything. The fourth time, I got a gentleman, who walked through everything with me. I had all of the emails about my account but it just wasn’t there anymore. We determined that TurboTax removed the account because it looked like I had not verified the email. So take note, and you too TurboTax...it needs to be made clear that YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE REMOVED IF YOU DO NOT VERIFY YOUR EMAIL!!! Today I called and got two very nice women who knew nothing about quarterly payment vouchers. This is what personal customer service is for - it’s there for us to get answers on unusual questions. Otherwise, we could just use the help files or the automated system. Customer service reps needs to know the program inside and out and be ready for questions like this. And have a way to look them up if they don’t know the answers.
