Rated 3 out of 5 by from Happy except for 1099-Q I always like Turbo Tax. But this was the first year I received a 529 distribution. I entered the 1099-Q data and the 1099-T, assuming Turbo Tax would apply the 1099T amounts to the 1099-Q tax calculation. I was therefore surprised that my return not only showed tax on the 1099-Q earnings, but also applied a 10% penalty. I had to read the Q&A regarding 1099-Q distributions indicating that the taxpayer has to determine if any part is taxable. Isn't that what this software is for? No warning or comment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is so EASY!!! My mom always stressed out with TAXES. Now, being a mom to 4 young children. Turbo Tax made filing my taxes stress free. I was able to file the Taxes quick. I loved being able to take pictures of my W2 and forms. So simple and done after the kids went to bed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Smooth TurboTax with one fault The experience was very easy and intuitive. It was rather easy for me to load all needed documents including my crypto and stocks. The only problem was that after I finished and was at the pay screen I found that I could have done the same tax program for $40 cheaper. When I tried to open turbotax using the discounted rate (from their site), it would just revert me back to the more expensive price. I guess the lesson here is to look for the discount at the beginning, or else you can't change it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didnt even give option for less expensive product I was referred to turbotax by a friend but when I launched turbotax through the referral email I didnt have a chance to choose a less expensive product so I paid for the most expensive price when my taxes were very basic. Surely I thought turbotax would have at some point in the process noticed my taxes were basic and switched to a less expensive or at least have given me the option to start off with their basic product first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have Used Intuit/Turbo Tax Since 1998 Accept that this yearly chore is gonna take a bit of time. Just follow the steps/questionnaire patiently and you should not go wrong. If a newbie, it's not difficult; just don't try to rush. There is a search feature if something pertinent to your return is not clear to you how you need to report/address it. You might say the program ultimately reduces the stress associated with filing taxes correctly short of PAYing a tax service to do the work for you. (I use the Premier edition.)
