This year, I mistakenly thought (from previous experience) that once you submitted your return for review there were just a few more steps to e-file. Not this year, a whole bunch of other steps were added to fill out and find the information to add repeatedly. This delayed the posting of my return to 4/19/23, just after midnight! Thank you for the extra steps I had not counted on as I only had today available to work on my taxes.

If you have a simple tax return, you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Live Assisted Basic or TurboTax Live Full Service Basic at the listed price.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
