Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax Live Assistance Deluxe Turbo Tax itself, was pretty alright! To the point, motivating illustrations and statements. However, I opted for the "Live Assistance Deluxe" and that was not great. The chat box was an automated response, not helpful.. So I asked for a live agent to call me as the automated responses were not helpful, and I paid for the deluxe, so I was able to ask for someone to give me a call. The call to me was almost immediate, less than 3 minutes! However, the worker who called (Soyeko) was extremely unprofessional, very rude, and made for a distrusting experience going forward. I hope that call is able to be listened to, for further training purposes. I could have just paid the minimum option, without assistance, and it would have made no differences. Also, Turbo Tax requiring an additional fee of $64 at the end, to file your State tax refund, isn't cool at all, if you don't pay that, it will only allow you to file for your federal refund.. So what was supposed to be a $139.00 payment, as stated from the very beginning, actually required a payment of $203.00. Just be up front from the get go, it's always appreciated.

This year I had to look up a few things on the IRS website where Turbo Tax could not give me enough information on changes to forms. The Federal Program is excellent; not so much my state return.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from For The Most Part OK, missing crucial pieces I am self employed, lots of expenses and categories of expenses to track and itemize for taxes. Turbo tax does a good job of leading me through itemizing and documenting most things. However I had significant trouble finding the following two things which added an extra hour or two to my total time using Turbo tax for my taxes: 1. SEP contributions 2. 529 plan contributions for my son Please make these items easier for find for next year and I'll be using this product again for taxes. Also - - - the fact that you can't contact a live human being to find out where specific functions in the software are located is quite frustrating.
