Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not use importing for 1099!!!!!!! If you have many entries in a 1099, Turbo Tax may not import it. I had a lot of stock purchases and sales in 2020. TurboTax choked on the import but did not tell me. It showed a tax liability of $4K on Fed and $11K on State. It was only because of the high state number that I called in. I then reviewed the return with the expert only to find the actual sales and purchases never imported at all!!! I then used the summary page of my 1099 to enter everything manually. My total tax liability went from $15K combined to under $2K. They key is that none of the reviews caught any of this. It was only because I noticed the $11K state due.
