Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied with Turbo Tax Turbo Tax carefully and artfully guided me thru completing my return

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TURBOTAX meets the requirements Confusing instructions. Explanations provided are inadequate. For example, when rental loss does not lead to tax reduction, no clear explanation for why this is so. Canned explanations provided are difficult to understand. Phone support is very poor and too time consuming and quality is inconsistent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Got worse this year The person who helped me on the phone was great however the problems they helped fix were software bugs that prevented auto uploads from working this year. This will likely be the last year I use turbo tax as it was almost as hard as filing on paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is a very user friendly tool for taxes I was able to get everything accounted for. The only thing I always have to look up is how to input the estimated taxes paid each year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from turbo tax not as good as it used to be 2021 turbo tax could not find my 2020 files on my Microsoft laptop. As suggested, I uninstalled and reinstalled by copy purchased from Amazon. Still didn't work. I can see the 2020 tax files on my list of documents, the PDF AND the tax file generated by TT. I tried again. No dice . There is STILL one area on the Step by Step that Will NOT take entry in the blanks! Still has the balloon that comes up and would never let me input a number. Have to revert to appropriate form and manually enter On the Form. This has been a problem every year! It's on the detailed worksheet for medical (perhaps prescriptions, can't recall now) . I went through the step by step again just to check - still wouldn't let me enter anything. Very weird. Downloads from Investments - WOW! Wouldn't work, tried several times, Finally figured out a work-around. Instructions should specify - MUST save your user name and password ON THE DEVICE YOU ARE USING TURBOTAX SOFTWARE so that the device is Recognized. Ex.. Microsoft laptop - I had not entererd the fairly new 2-factor authorization for Edward Jones on my laptop, had used my ipad and my iphone to view EJ. I guess I hadn't used EJ on laptop since they added that layer of protection. Once I signed in on laptop and it was authenticated and device recognized, so that it didn't have to send code to phone or email, THEN the download IMPORT worked at last! TT will need to iincorporate somehow with Edward Jones how that authentication can either be added to TT access, OR give directions on how to save authentication ON THE DEVICE using for TT software. I was not alone in having trouble with this. And I bet other financial firms had this extra layer of authentication also, so Importing modifications will be needed for TT to work! Last - the Payment section for state copy, at the very end, when filing VERY cumbersome - takes you to Internet, must sign in to Intuit before it works. Needs some instructions or an explanation - just seemed more confusing this year. Not as user friendly as it used to be. This year was just a big frustration. Not sure why, just wasn't as smooth as it has been in the past. May be time for me to quit doing our own taxes, save the software costs and spend $ instead to have taxes done by professional
