Rated 5 out of 5 by LLCmember TurboTax for Business for a small LLC
As always, the key to using TurboTax for Business for our small LLC is accurate accounting with Intuit QuickBooks. After answering a few shorts questions, I import and complete and e-file the return and email the K-1s.

The transfer of financial information from Quckbooks to the proper location on the tax forms is a great time saver. Doing my depreciation schedules unclutters my mind. Great program.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bud678 One Problem
In Transferring Assets from an on going business the asset purchase/start date is earlier than the start date of the LLC. Turbo Tax does not allow a start date earlier than the LLC start date. This should be corrected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SFOMark Comprehensive. . .but complicated to learn
I've prepared tax returns since 1982. The tax code is ridiculously complicated (arcane to be more exact#.
I began using Turbo Tax when it first became available. It was a good product then, and has remained the best tax product since (and, yes, I've tried other products#. It is robust and very comprehensive - there have been occasions requiring considerable research and experimentation with Turbo Tax forms/worksheets, but I haven't come across a situation it can't handle. It is expensive. I do wish the retail product permitted spreadsheet importation. It is annoying that it does NOT save supporting details input in Forms mode #only in Interview mode). But overall I couldn't prepare my own taxes without it.

Needs to Import 1099s like regular TurboTax. Otherwise, great product. If I were not already familiar with TT Business, I would check out other products to prepare 1041 for trust only because of lack of import of 1099s.

This year, it was a piece of cake to do my taxes! All I needed to do was answer the questions and Turbo Tax would put my figures onto the right forms for me. And since I used Turbo Tax last year, a lot of my information transfered right over to this year making life so much easier when it comes to doing my own taxes! Thanks Turbo Tax!

Rated 3 out of 5 by MichaelATX Turbo Tax State Returns
For $50/each, I would expect Turbo Tax state return modules to provide me with the same, excellent step-by-step Q & A as it does on the Federal return. I'm an out of state filer and don't know the rules of each state I'm required to file in. I was very disappointed to see how much of the input requirement was left to me to figure out.

Very disappointed with product, especially for price. Doesn't bring in stock and mutual fund data like the personal product. Miscalculated my taxes. Didn't bring in the capital carryover worksheet properly. Had to go in and override the program to get the right taxes. Saved over $20,000 by doing a manual check and correcting the error.

Cannot input accounting data easily. You need to have everything set up in accounting software knowing which tax form and line they belong. You also need the latest version of accounting software or it will not transfer.

When doing state it asked if real estate owned which is our business and if you say yes you hae to enter every location but if you say no all the info is transfered over from the federal return. That does not make sense.

I have been using this program since 2007. At first I was not comfortable with the electronic idea. However, after using it all these years, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be able to do their own taxes. It is like having your own Accountant, but without the much higher costs.
Just a great program !!!!! Anyone can do it !!!

State ask, do ou own or rent any real estate in PA. Our business is owning and renting real estate in PA. You have to answer NO or it ask you to enter all of your properties that are already entered on the federal return.

Rated 2 out of 5 by PAETaxed Problems with Trust Application
I had difficulty e-filing my simple Trust federal return because TT generated an unneeded Form for an Investment Interest deduction. Once I figured out the form was unnecessary for my return and deleted it the e-filing went through. Nevertheless, the whole process was aggravating as I went round and round trying to insert the required "0"s.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JimJohnson44121 Be careful with this product
There are many bugs in Turbotax. Examples:
-I changed my tax year start date in the "step by step" process. This date was not updated on any of our forms: K-1s, 1180, etc. I had to go through and manually change them all.
-I changed a depreciation amount and it left the field blank in the form that was printed. I had to search online for other users' posts on the turbotax help site to fix it.
Another annoyance are questions like "Do you need to pay the 8800(b) tax this year?" (8800(b) is ficticious, but you get the idea). There is no assistance from Turbotax in determining whether or not I need to pay it, so I go to Google.
Unfortunately, it is the only system I know that improves upon simply filling the forms out myself. It saves time. But the dangerous bugs really raise cause for concern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LunaB Still easy
I had some questions about definitions of certain things related to taxes and could not easily find answers to them, so I had to google them. Also I wish they kept the Q&A separate business from personal, so one does not have to go through a ton of personal questions before actually finding the business one needed to proceed with the returns.
