Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good product but e-filing and 1095-A needs repair. I have been using TurboTax for decades. It's really easy to use and generally a good product. However, there are a couple of serious issues that MUST be fixed before I would recommend this product to anyone. First, one is e-filing. They say it's free, but who wants to e-file their federal tax and not e-file their state tax as well. So, they charge you $25 to e-file the state tax, but if the federal tax return is rejected then the state tax return is rejected as well. The problem is always AGI. If the feds make any changes to your return that affects your AGI, then e-filing will not work. Why collect my drivers license information and claim it's another way to verify my identity? If the AGI doesn't match what the feds say....NO E-filing for YOU. Game, set, match. So, I decide not to e-file. I go into TT and tell them I'm going to paper file. They acknowledge that I'm going to paper file and walk me through all the steps necessary to paper file. So, why is it that when I look at my return, I still get the message that my return has been "rejected". TT should update my file to show that I have paper filed the returns, and TT should AUTOMATICALLY refund my $25. The second issue is with the 1095-A form. Why do we have to hunt it down? Why do we have to do a search then "jump to the form". It should be included in the natural flow of working through your taxes. Because of these two persistent issues. I would not recommend this software.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Turbo Tax Online Premier This tool is so easy to use and there is so much information to help you when you get stuck. If you want to royal treatment, pay for the live assistance....better and more efficient than hiring a private accountant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turbo tax double charged me I purchased the turbo tax to do at home for $70 plus tax at BJ's only to complete my taxes in NJ and find out I have to pay an additional $25 PLUS NJ STATE TAX to get the state completed. I called and Ayesha sent me links to emails about how to contact the IRS in my state. She offered me 30% off a program but I already bought the application so this was an additional fee for my state. I have relied on turbotax for the past 3 years and I have NEVER had this problem. She then said she isn't a tax preparer so I would have to contact someone in turbotax? isn't that who I called?! Very disappointed I was proud to do my taxes by myself but I will go to the tax place for someone else to complete them if I have to pay over $100 I could have had them do it for less. The sense of accomplishment is now worth it!
