Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy, but hidden costs I have used Turbo Tax for 7 years. It is a great and simple way to file taxes. The tips and questions are always helpful and I learn alot. I can usually get my taxes done in 2-3 hours, no problem. My only complaint is that the cost to use Turbo Tax is not up front and visible. In the beginning, it mentions $60. After you finish everything, fed and state, they throw a few more charges at you. Not cool. I want to celebrate being done, but being charged another $40-80 at the end of filing taxes leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Wish you just put that up front, rather than leave it a surprise at the end. Otherwise, love using Turbo Tax.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extra fees I paid extra to do self-employed and I was asked 5 more questions than if I had done the free version and it did not really add more money for doing itemized deductions for my expenses. ALSO I was not a fan of the extra $39 they add on at the end for choosing to take what you owe turbotax out of your federal refund (especially when they show you an itemized receipt of what you owe turbotax for their services before you continue to file) They throw the $39 extra on right before you file so of course you're not going to go all the way back and choose a different option.
