Rated 2 out of 5 by from WHERE'S MY $15 DOLLARS? Turbotax was offering a promotion of $15 off on the self employed package which is what I used to complete my taxes this year. When I made it to the end it proceeded to charge me the full listed price of the software with no discount when it stated that no discount code is needed! This is ridiculous, after the time and energy wasted into preparing my taxes with this software. Apart from that I have generally enjoyed using Turbotax products in the past as I have always used them when filing my own taxes. This year however, I'm not sure what changed but I had a great deal of difficulty using the software's ability to automatically parse my various tax documents, specifically from banking institutions. Repeatedly, I had to go back and manually enter in the information from various banks because it would only pull the tax info from one account that I had within that bank. This historically has been one of the biggest draws of using TurboTax because it made things very simple for someone like me but I will have to resort to looking for another product or service if this doesn't get fixed next year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too many upsells & places to accidentally click In the beginning of the TurboTax experience, I accidentally must have clicked the TurboTax live button instead of Deluxe. I had no intention of using the live question portion. If that were the case, I'd do them locally with someone (who only charges $185 BTW). When I got to the end, there wasn't a way to remove it without completely redoing my taxes, which too 2 hours. I had to call and luckily I got someone very helpful, which is why you get three stars instead of 1. He wasn't able to get the "live" option to go away either so he was able to provide a service code to remove it. The amount of upsell options without the ability to remove it has gotten ridiculous. There also is very little guidance and help in the state taxes portion. Every year, I fear that they're wrong. With the experience of always being upsold and the amount of opportunities to accidentally click a button without the ability to remove it, along with the questionable state taxes, I might be paying someone to do them in the future. Note: Perfect example below. I accidentally clicked a star rating thinking it was for my customer service rep. Once I realized it was for a live "expert", I wasn't able to undo my selection. Try doing more UX research in the future to better understand how users feel about all your upsell moments and the inability to undo things.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Filing my taxes I paid for the deluxe and was having so much trouble figuring out what was going wrong and didn't understand why it wasn't helping me after I paid for help. But when I called and spoke to a live person I spoke to Ed, didn't get a last name but he was amazing so Thank you Ed!!!!
