Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seemed a little glitchy. Got a C+ I suppose part of my problem was the program was a bit different from last year. I bought a version that allows for 5 e-files. Instead of the tax updates downloading to the program/app you had to download the same information EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU STARTED A NEW TAXPAYER. Since it took about 10 minutes each time I was highly annoyed. and NO saving didn't seem to work. Print function also wasted my time. Sometimes when looking at a specific form I wanted to just print it now to look at it. If you hit print it brings EVERYTHING UP and you have to waste time finding the form you wanted to print. Accuracy seems to be there as usual

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Support is a challenge for TurboTax Team Over the last few days, I talked with 3 "Tax Experts" and 1 "Product Expert." I acknowledge the challenge of supporting a complex software product i.e subject matter expertise, software familiarity, and technical expertise e.g. ability to see email messages received by me from TurboTax providers on the TurboTax website (from Community review, this is not a new issue). Here are the issues I had with incorrect guidance from Tax Experts or their lack of knowledge of the software. Also included are software enhancements I'd suggest. I wanted to see the detailed, completed 1040 form. "Expert" did not know I had to pay TurboTax fee before I could see form. TurboTax screen says, "Here's how much you owe" with buttons below saying, Pay Later and Pay Now. It is not clear at all that the buttons are asking to pay now or later the TurboTax fee, not the amount I owe the IRS. Expert did not know this. I knew I had an NOL from 2020. I asked Expert if TurboTax would automatically pull this forward. She did not know and counseled me to add a supplemental income line to the reflect the NOL. This was incorrect. TurboTax does automatically pull the NOL forward. I had to delete the line I added. I asked the Expert if I could automatically have my checking account debited to pay the amount I owe. She said that once I file, the IRS would give my payment options. This is incorrect. When e-filing my return, the software asks if I want to pay with a debit to checking account. It would be very helpful to have the return printed with page numbers. This is important as one makes revisions and wants to replace new pages with old pages. Expert did not know if printing page numbers was available. I wanted to modify the Estimated Tax Payment Options page. Expert struggled to figure out how to do this. While she was searching for the answer, I finally found the screen under Tax Tools where I could type in the form name and proceed to make the changes. Software suggestion: on supporting schedules, include totals that match the number reported on the 1040 and schedules. For example, on Schedule D, Line 13, Capital Gain distributions, TurboTax just prints a number. Finally, I found the supporting schedule/worksheet, "Schedule B: Interest and Dividend Income." The schedule lists all the detail, but does not provide a subtotal (Box 2a) that matches the number on Schedule D. What a hassle to find where the number on Schedule D, line 13 was coming from! Lastly, after each call to an Expert, I received an email from them, I guess asking for feedback. I clicked on the link in the email and it took me to the TurboTax website where I had last been. Neither the Expert nor Product expert could find anything related to "Messages," "Notifications," or "Feedback." My efforts were unsuccessful regardless of the browser I used (Edge and Chrome). I want to add that each person I talked to was very professional, and genuinely wanted to help, but just because they've been a "Tax Expert" for 20 years, does not mean they are a Tax Expert. Many times, I could tell that as soon as I gave them the title of a form of schedule, they were perplexed. Of all the people I talked to, Gordon, was far and away the best.
