Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expected Better Service I moved to a different state part way through the year and TurboTax did not automatically split my capital gains attributions for the two different states, despite having the dates for all the transactions and the date of my move. I had to manually go through all the entries for the Michigan state and change them to 0s if they happened prior to the move date. I never figured out how to even get it right for California, I think it was just misreported as 100% of the capital gains. Very annoying process, and I have to pay for Premier on top of that (and for both states as well). Didn't love it. It did automate a lot of stuff for me, like I didn't have to manually input all the capital gains transactions (that would have been a real headache). But honestly I didn't think all the questions/prompts were that clear, and the impact to my taxes is unclear as well (somewhat by design, I guess, because they don't want you to be able to fill out your own taxes after going through their process, so that you still have to pay them.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank heavens for Turbotax Turbotax step-by-step guidance thru the IRS and State tax maize is essential for maintaining a sound mind while going through this frustrating, and frankly, ridiculously complex tax maize....and we have a "simple" tax return!!
