Even after two credit cards and a deb it card it still didn't work I had to call in twice. The first time I waited on hold while the hold music played. Then it stopped, and there was dead air. After 10 minutes of that I gave up and called back in. I called back and was finally able to talk to a live person. This process alone took over an hour and a half! Now, I'm not sure if the e-file process completed. I went through all the steps and used my credit card to pay for what I needed to. Now, when I click on Check E-file Status, it tells me I haven't filedl yet.

If you have a simple tax return, you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Live Assisted Basic or TurboTax Live Full Service Basic at the listed price.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
