Rated 1 out of 5 by from TurboTax was better when you let us go to Forms Because TT no longer gives us the option to Go To Forms, there were several numbers I needed late in the process that I couldn't get to once certain questions were answered. I'm baffled why this option was removed. In addition, TT reviewed my Federal form before starting State forms and found no errors, but in the final review right before filing, TT DID find an error that I had to fix way back in the Income section, which made me have to go through many question windows in the File section that I already had answered. Further, surprisingly to me, TT is now CHARGING for my home state return where before it came bundled with the Federal price, and only extra states cost extra. This is really cheap of you. Also, I for one found the cute au courant street lingo that the process is littered with to be quite annoying rather that calming. I don't need to be spoken to like a Third-grader while I'm doing my taxes. This is not a video game. Your "tips for writing a great review" that mention avoidance of "attitude" should be applied to your own program. Next, there were figures that I supplied in the previous tax year and in this year's Federal section that DID NOT FLOW to all the State returns. Lastly, for one NY State form, there were NO helpful hints OR suggestions as to what I needed to supply or where to find it, and I had to download NYS instructions for these forms in order to figure it out. Don't tell me I need to purchase one of the more expensive options for those to be available. I'll end on a positive few: for the first time in three years, I had no trouble placing my order which meant I didn't have to call up TurboTax to get someone to find me a workaround for whatever glitch I was having. I suspect the browser I had been using in those past years may have been at fault. If you're never bringing back a downloadable version of TT, which was much better than this browser version, you should provide a list of preferred browsers, or at least browsers TT was tested in, so we can use the best ones from the start. This of course includes Mac and PC browser options, since they're different.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mostly good The program is good for people living in the US with simple taxes. As an ex-pat with a business in the US, it was a big hassle. The program keeps asking for US phone numbers and I can't do certain things because I don't have a US address. Also the "Live Help" was not knowledgeable about all the ins and outs of my situation. This world is too small to make a tax program so restrictive.
