Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will use Turbotax for the rest of my life. Well I was expecting them to say I didn't need to file which has been the case for many year. Mind blown, I am getting a $1200 refund because I never got the the first stimulus check. Plus they are getting me a Wisconsin refund a with the Homestead filing. They are too good to true and free.

I was concerned that there were mistakes on my state taxes but, since you can't see the forms and I was using the free version, I wanted to upgrade and it would not let me. I contacted customer service. After over an hour on the phone the Tech person was unable to upgrade me. She had me switch my filing status to self-employed which I'm not and I could not go back to another status. I was stuck. She switched me over to a tax expert and we spent almost another hour on the phone where he tried to assess my state return. He told me South Carolina does not tax retirement income and thought my state taxes were accurate. I signed out and resumed again today. While trying to file I got to the last 3 steps where you verify name, SS#, DOB. I completed step 2. When I got to step 3 there was nothing to click on to proceed. I bounced around to a few other screens in Turbotax and when I returned to the filing section the third step now had a button to proceed. I thought I was going to lose everything. So the free version cost a little over $200 - $55 for state and $65 for MAX. I've used Turbotax for the last 8 years and this year my taxes were the simplest yet your software was the most difficult ever.
