i called the irs today and the code 9001 has everyone stumped at the irs..tt emailed me on the 13th and said my return was accepted..i called to make sure since tt is having so many problems and cause the irs website couldn't provide any info yet..it gave me a number to call and said to mention ref 9001..irs operator did say my return was accepted and should be direct deposited on the 25th..the first refund`date..she said the system only updates like 1 a week so that is why the website and hotline can't give any info..so all is good don't panic cause website isn't showing anything..i would just call and verify they recieved it and has been accepted to calm all of us

Thats the question of the day. There are a lot of people that received that message (me included) and all of us basically got different answers when we called. What did they tell you when you called?

I got the same reponse on the IRS website when i checked my ""wheres my refund"". I tried calling the IRS and the only thing they could tell me was to the same thing the site said, Please read the following information related to your tax situation:
Tax Topic 152 - Refund Information. Hopefully this means that the refund is being processed for payment.

I got the same thing when I checked the statues, so I was wondering if there was anything I have to send it to make sure my refund was completed! So if anyone know's - pls let us know what's going on. Until then all I can do is wait and see and try and talk to some one at the IRS who knows what's going on!

Ok here is the latest,, i spoke with someone else @ the IRS today,he stated that the reference code 9001 basically meant that the IRS system hasnt been updated yet. Once you get the email from TT that your return was accepted by the IRS it takes 10 days for the IRS to have any information about a efile refund.
