Asked

trying to complete 5695 residential energy credit. I have $1528 in qualified expenses, 10% credit is $153. not subject to AMT, but this is showing my eligible 5695 credit is only $46. have not taken this credit in the past either.

exterior windows $970
exterior door $292
insulation $266
total $1528 and credit should be 10%, $153. Turbo tax only comes up with $46

Forms specifically delayed:
· Form 8863: Education Credits
· Form 5695: Residential Energy Credits
· Form 8396: Mortgage Interest Credit (very uncommon)
· Form 8859: District of Columbia First-Time Homebuyer Credit.

This is specifically one of the forms effected by the late legislation passed by Congress, H.R. 3996. The IRS announced today that anyone who needs this form will be delayed in filing. This form in TurboTax is not finalized so results are not necessarily correct.

Note that Form 5695 is marked "Non Final." It is also one of the five forms the IRS says won't be ready for filing until February 11, 2008.

ffected? By any chance would form 8863 lifetime learning credit also be affected? Since I calculated we can claim it and TT does not, I'm thinking its another one of those last minute quick fixes
