Question

Ed7685

Asked

How do I enter other adjustments to income?

I received a 1099-MISC for attorney fees. Since this was related to an unlawful discrimination lawsuit this amount should be an adjustment to income that will show up on line 36 of the 1040. But I cannot find a place to enter this on the form or the program. Once I enter this, I will add the letters 'UDC' so the IRS will know what this means. Please help.

If you're using a version of TurboTax installed on your computer, you can go to the Forms Method (use the menu Forms, Open a Form) to open Form 1040 and make your entry directly on the Other Adjustments to Income Smart Worksheet line H.

If you're using TurboTax Online, we don't support that line in the Interview. However, you can download a version of TurboTax that you can install on your computer, download your TurboTax file, and complete your return that way.
