Manually Update TurboTax 2005 (Mac)

Important: If you use a dial-up connection, downloading the update file may take several hours. We recommend using a computer with a high-speed Internet connection to download the TurboTax update to a CD or portable medium (e.g., flash drive), then copy the update file to your computer, and then double-click the file to install the updates. Or you can order the TurboTax update CD.


Follow the steps below to download and install the 2005 updates for your version of TurboTax (high-speed connection recommended).

 

Important: To update TurboTax desktop, the product must be installed on your computer's hard drive. Do not run TurboTax desktop from the product CD.
Note: The update files in the table below are federal updates.
  1. Click the File 1 link in the table below. When downloading is complete, a TurboTax icon appears on your computer where you downloaded the file.

    TurboTax for Macintosh
    (all TurboTax versions)    		 File 1 | File 2 | File 3 | File 4 | File 5 | File 6
     
  2. Repeat Step 1 to download the remaining files in the table.
  3. Close all programs, including TurboTax.
  4. Double-click each TurboTax icon on your computer to install the updates. Do not interrupt the installation process or end it prematurely.

    Note: If your computer is unable to open the update file, you may need to install a file expansion tool, such as StuffIt Expander.
