Verify TurboTax Is Up to Date (Windows)

We provide updates throughout the tax season to keep TurboTax 2008 software in sync with the latest tax changes.

Before you file your tax return, be sure you have the latest TurboTax updates. Verify TurboTax 2008 Business is up to date.

  1. On the menu bar at the top of the TurboTax window, select Online, and then select Check for Updates.
  2. The Updater will open and you'll see the message Checking for software updates...
  3. Wait for the Updater to finish checking. If you see the message Your software is up to date, you're good to go.

Alternative Method

You can also manually verify that you have the latest  federal updates:

  1. On the menu bar at the top of the TurboTax window, select Help, and then select About TurboTax [Product] 2008 where [Product] is replaced by Basic, Deluxe, etc.
  2. In the About TurboTax window, click the Version tab and compare the version number of the first six Modules with the information in the table below.

  3. If TurboTax displays a lower version number for any of the above Modules, update TurboTax.
