Error 30366: We cannot find TurboTax Update Manager for your updates...

Error 30366 usually occurs when third-party software on your computer identifies TurboTax as a security risk and quarantines certain program components. As a result, TurboTax is unable to find the Update Manager to download and install TurboTax updates. Here's the complete error message:

We cannot find TurboTax Update Manager for your updates. Please reinstall TurboTax and try again.

To resolve this error message, follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall TurboTax.
  2. Reinstall TurboTax.
  3. After the installation is complete, start TurboTax and choose to check for updates later.
  4. In TurboTax, select One-click Updates from the Online menu.
  5. Download any available updates.


If you have problems uninstalling TurboTax, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the folder where you installed TurboTax and delete the folder. (Your tax data file is saved in a different location by default.)
  2. Click Start, select Settings, and then select Control Panel.
  3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, and then choose to uninstall TurboTax. You should receive a message that the program has already been removed.
  4. Reinstall TurboTax.
