Error 9139 occurs when updating TurboTax:

An error occurred while updating TurboTax

This error may be caused by insufficient disk space on your computer or by issues with DSL and your home router.

Do one of the following:

To temporarily work around this issue, manually update TurboTax.

To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
- Determine whether your computer has the required free disk space to install TurboTax.
  1. View the amount of disk space required to install TurboTax. See TurboTax System Requirements.
  2. View the amount of free disk space on your computer's drive C. For steps, see View Free Disk Space.
  3. If your computer does not have required disk space, either remove unnecessary programs or files from your computer or install TurboTax on a computer that has the required disk space.
- If you use DSL and a home router, adjust your router's MTU setting.
- Reinstall TurboTax.

Still can't update TurboTax?

If you still have problems updating TurboTax, order the free update CD.

Important: If you order an update CD after April 1, 2008, we cannot guarantee your CD will arrive by April 15. If you require an update CD after April 1, we recommend either filing an extension or using TurboTax Online (which is always up to date).
